Mori (=Forest) Museum |
|
1995 Iwaki,Japan This construction is in beautiful scenery with the simple lived-in feeling that the river flows forward against the backdrop of the mountain, the field and the farmer scatters in surroundings. This is a designer’s studio and private museum. This construction has started from the client’s hope to make “the most beautiful house in the world”. First of all, I prepared the space to the maximum volume here for this spiritual space. It can be made of the material obtained easily in the region and the technique done by the hands of the carpenter and the plasterer who lives near by. I’d like to express the most beautiful form today with such a traditional method and materials. However, this construction has started no returning to the past though it has made in a traditional method. The top of tradition is connected to sense of novel. |
