Black Crystal House |
|
2004 Kawasaki,Japan This house is Ito's home and atelier. First of all, the outline of the octagon has completed in this house. There was intuition that would show a beautiful comparison of this geometrical outline in surrounding green with many uphills and downhills. The outside wall is a clapboard -lined of the incense cedar painted black. The entrance porch and the terrace are placed in the scooped out outline encompassed with a black epidermis. Nothing has been added to the outline of the octagon. An internal space with the 4 doorways at a different level becomes complex in three-dimensions contrary to externals. In the inner wall, narrow width saw-like Japanese cedar is put out on the wall and the ceiling. Such roughly finished surface softly brings light into indoors. | ||||
